"My work can shift stylistically quite frequently. I consider this ambiguity an essential freedom I allow
myself to generate imagery and new ideas. Landscape has always been a subject close to my heart and a lot of my more 'abstract' paintings have their triggers derived from observation of the natural world.
My ultimate goal for a painting I guess is what Diebenkorn refered to as 'rightness' and to try and get as close to this by any means possible." Dan Metcalf 2017
